Healthy Smiles in Phoenix believes that everyone deserves healthy teeth and gums. Your smile should be one of your greatest assets, and you should not have to worry about dental decay, gum disease, and dental health problems. If you are concerned about your smile, it is time that you talked to Dr. Anastassatos to see how we can help you.
What is restorative dentistry? We specialize in restorative dentistry services to restore your smile and ensure your teeth are healthy. If you are missing teeth or have damaged teeth, our restorative services will help you! Below, you will be able to see our most common restorative dental procedures that we offer in our office.
Root Canal Therapy
When you need to have a root canal performed, Dr. Anastassatos will begin by identifying the infected tooth that’s causing you pain. We use a rotary handpiece to perform root canals and can even do them through crowns to ensure we can save your tooth. If a root canal procedure is not sufficient to save your tooth and keep your mouth healthy, we will often recommend that you have the tooth removed and a dental implant placed instead. Despite the bad reputation that root canals have, they actually get rid of the pain rather than cause it! You can expect the procedure to be about as involved as getting a filling.
Veneers, Dental Crowns, and Bridges
In our office, we use e.max veneers and porcelain crowns to fix damage and protect your teeth. Crowns are caps that cover damaged teeth and are made to match your smile perfectly. We don’t use metal crowns in our office because they are not aesthetically pleasing. If you are missing a tooth, a bridge can essentially “bridge” the gap left by that tooth using a series of crowns: two that support the bridge and fit over the teeth surrounding the gap, and one that fills the hole. All of our bridges are custom made to fit in your mouth and feel natural. We can use both bridges and crowns to top dental implants.
Tooth-Colored Dental Fillings
Healthy Smiles provides tooth-colored dental fillings to ensure that your smile is aesthetically pleasing. If you do have amalgam fillings, we recommend that you have them removed and replaced with tooth-colored fillings. Amalgam fillings have mercury in them and may cause allergies. Dr. Anastassatos will provide a blood test before and after the fillings are removed to show the difference of the levels of mercury in your bloodstream.
If your cavities are too large for fillings, we may recommend inlays and onlays. Made from composite resin like tooth-colored fillings, these custom restorations cover and protect the chewing surfaces of your teeth.
